Brassard Family Camping Blog: The Epilogue - 2021 Brassard Trip full post list and photos

The 2021 Brassard family odyssey is complete.

Over 5 weeks we drove 6000 miles across 19 states and spent nearly $2500 on gas. We only had one breakdown, and the RV climbed two large mountains, 9500ft, and 11,000ft on the same day. We visited 10 national park sites and 3 state parks. We survived 2 flash floods and assorted wildlife encounters. We camped inside 2 canyons, and on the rim of 2 others. We witnessed the outdoor musical TEXAS!. We hiked, we biked, we swam, we drove, and we hiked some more. We watched the sky as the Milky Way came out of the clouds. We followed the Colorado River from the Grand Canyon to the Rocky Mountains and spent 3 of our 5 weeks in various deserts. Rachel earned 10 Junior Ranger badges, and when the trip was nearly done, we dropped off 1 child at college.

When we are asked "how was your summer" we will have no shortage of things to talk about.

July 18th - The big one

On July 18th we set out on a long-awaited RV/camping journey to see a bunch of our National Parks. Planned stops include Mammoth Cave, Grand Canyon, Zion Bryce Canyon, Canyon Lands, and more. The trip will take 4-5 weeks and cover thousands of miles. We talked about this trip for years. The Journey has begun.
